we need more people daring enough to rebel;
to rebel against the norms
against the ideals of a world that welcomes only the compliant
to raise a voice when silence betrays vanishing lives;
people who will put aside greed for the sake of a better world
it is not the greed of politicans alone that kills the multidues
but of individuals running to the malls of mass production
filling landfills with their waste
filling factories with children paying the price of our discounts
for young people to use their anger against things that should enrage us
to engage patience and understanding at pride’s expense
with hearts bigger than our hunger
and thoughts larger than our thirst
people with life enough to fight the arms of apathy’s seductive embrace
the daring and rebellious can save the world
